A few steps towards a life without burnout
Imagine a steady path out of burnout - easy to follow steps... tailored to you. But.....
It is not what you might expect...There is no "just take a yoga class". "you must eat better", "go to bed earlier" anywhere in sight. No "do more exercise" when you are already deeply exhausted. What does NOT work? Tinkering at the edges of burnout with simplistic platitudes is akin to sticking plasters on a broken bone. And when the plasters don't work ...it is very demoralising and may entrench burnout even more. Our approach to burnout is more profound and is focused on steady incremental learning. With 30+ years experience of understanding burnout we know that a greater awareness of how burnout has arisen, how it is affecting you & more....is the key to resuming life without burnout. The steps you need will be different to anyone else's. So we can't tell you at this stage what YOUR essential steps will be. But the first step is the same for everyone....the test. |
The test gives a baseline - a simple score indicating the presence and the level of burnout which in turn suggests what actions may be needed next.
How long ....some of the early steps are under 5 minutes ( eg the test......shorter ones at the start as we know burnt out folk are TIRED!!) . We build up slowly. It is not coaching per se - not therapy either....we focus primarily on learning. If our full learning programme is appropriate - this will become clear. And after the test - you can just use the score for your own interest or... you can continue your journey out of burnout with the Burnout Geese gaggle.
